There wasn’t a giant amount of actual writing that took place in September: rather, I spent pretty much the whole month (minus one weekend where I flew to Florida to compete in electric karts) doing editing and revisions on the second and third volumes of my (still untitled) trilogy to bring them into line with the changes I made in the rewrite.

I worked at least somewhat on all three titles in September:

The Shadow of the Ruin (rewrite): Finished alpha read and finalized first draft. 7 hours.

The Gathering Darkness: Read through the entire thing again, numerous small edits, plus a few larger ones for length reduction or consistency. 22-1/2 hours.

The Second Sundering: As above, but it needed less work. 10 hours.

As I write this, the new version of The Shadow of the Ruin is with my (very) small group of beta readers. I expect to have their feedback and be able to produce a more final version by the end of this month, at which point I hope to finally call an end on revisions to the trilogy. After nearly ten years of writing (although with some years containing very little, looking at you 2013 and 2014), the story is essentially complete.

Finally: I still have yet to get around to my next Writer Reaction piece, but I’m getting close. Unfortunately, I’m finding it a bit hard to motivate myself to finish reading the book in question, and that’s making it all take a bit longer…
