Continuing on with my unofficial participation in Novel Writing Month, here’s my personal log for the second week:
Second Week: Saturday the 9th to Friday the 15th
Since I was home for this whole week, I was able to ratchet up my productivity a little. I’m not trying to hit the 50,000 word goal for the month, but I am still making an effort to push myself to write more consistently in the spirit of the competition.
Sunday, November 10th
Wrote 1,535 words over about two hours — roughly half a chapter.
Monday, November 11th
Monday was a good day. In the afternoon, I wrote 1,175 words over one and a half hours to finish off the chapter I started on Sunday.
Having some extra time, I firmed up the script for the next chapter (780 words in 20 minutes).
In the evening, I wrote that chapter — 1,640 words in one and a half hours. (Yes; at a word ratio of almost 1:2 to the first draft, that’s not a very efficient script.)
Wednesday, November 13th
Another productive day, after taking Tuesday off.
In the afternoon and into early evening, 3,734 words over about four hours for one whole chapter.
At night, 679 words over half an hour for a very short whole chapter.
Friday, November 15th
At night, 2,262 words over about two and a half hours for another whole chapter.
In total, for the second week I wrote 11,025 words encompassing 5 chapters.
Over the course of the month, I’ve written 18,775 words and 8 chapters.
