The rewrite project for The Shadow of the Ruin continues, I’m happy to report! It doesn’t continue particularly quickly, but it does continue.

I entered the month of March with good momentum, and got off to a strong start, writing over a thousand words per day on fourteen of the first nineteen days. Then I hit a snag — nothing too bad this time, just related to a week where a lot of work had to be done in and around the house and I ended up very tired.

In the same week, I participated in another iRacing endurance event, which contributed to me being even more tired; the final result was that I took that week off entirely.

In total, my writing accomplishments for March are as follows:

  • 17 writing days
  • 26-3/4 productive hours resulting in 21,733 words written
  • 8 completed chapters

Those are all below my target numbers, but right now I’m just happy to be back on a steady pace. I’ve reached 84,500 words total, which at my current speed would have me finished somewhere around the start of June.

Now, I won’t be making that target in all likelihood, because I’ll be traveling for my other artistic endeavor — landscape photography — during much of April. However, I do travel by train and there’s plenty of time in hotel rooms, so it’s not out of the question that I’ll get some solid writing in during the trip.

… and maybe I’ll even have time to come up with some blog entries that aren’t monthly roundups! xD
